Harris County Smokehouse Unveils New Menu Items

HOUSTON — June 2, 2015 — On the heels of the March grand opening of its new Cy-Fair location, Harris County Smokehouse has updated its menu to include three new items.

The star of the new menu items is Harry’s jalapeño cornbread. Buttery and moist with just the right amount of peppery flavor and kick, the jalapeño cornbread now being served in both restaurant locations is the result of numerous experimental batches and taste tests made by Harris County Smokehouse co-owner Harry Chambers, Jr.

“As the saying goes, if something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.” said Harry. “We’ve always prided ourselves on breads made fresh from scratch daily using only the best ingredients, and our new cornbread is no exception. The trick here was finding the right balance of ingredients to achieve the classic cornbread texture without drying it out.”

Other recently added menu items included fried mushrooms and fried pickles & jalapeños, all of which make use of ingredients already delivered fresh to the store for other menu items.

“These are all items our customers have been asking for. It was just a matter of getting in more of what we were already ordering from our suppliers to fill that demand,” Harry explained.

All new menu items are now being served at both the Cy–Fair and Tomball locations. Customers who subscribe to Harris County Smokehouse emails will receive a special promotion for a free sample order of fried mushrooms with the purchase of a meal, which will run through the end of June. Customers must present email at time of purchase to redeem.
